  • How young athletes develop - understanding Long-Term Athlete Development and what matters at different ages and stages.

  • Finding the right sporting path - choosing a sport, knowing when to explore multiple sports, and understanding when and how specialisation should happen.

  • How growth and puberty affect young athletes - understanding growth spurts and how they can change performance, training needs and injury risk.

The Mental Game (Parents) + Game Day Workshop for Junior Athletes (8-18 years)

  • Understanding the Mental Game - learn how confidence, focus, motivation, pressure and emotions influence performance.

  • Building the Mental Game - understand how mental skills develop over time and introduce practical tools such as imagery, self-talk, breathing, goal-setting and reset routines.

  • The Athlete Toolkit - practise simple mental skills that young athletes can use in training and competition.

  • The Parent's Role - learn how parents can support confidence, manage their own expectations and emotions, and create an environment that strengthens rather than undermines the mental game.

 

Game Day Workshop for Junior Athletes

  • Game Day - learn how to apply mental skills before, during and after competition, from managing nerves to recovering from mistakes and staying focused.

Recovery and Injury Prevention

  • Understanding Injury Risk — learn how training load, recovery, growth, movement patterns and competition schedules can influence injury risk in young athletes.

  • Building Recovery & Injury Prevention Habits — understand the role of sleep, nutrition, hydration, strength, mobility, warm-ups and rest, and how to build sustainable routines around training and competition.

  • Knowing When to Push, Pause or Seek Help — recognise warning signs, understand when pain or fatigue needs attention, and know when to modify training or seek professional support.

  • Returning After Injury — understand what a safe return to training and competition looks like, and how parents can support both the physical and mental recovery process.

  • The Parent Mindset - learn how your attitudes, beliefs and behaviours shape your young athlete's confidence, motivation and relationship with sport.

  • Think Long Term, Give Them Ownership -  learn to set age-appropriate expectations, give children autonomy and ensure they are pursuing their ambitions, not living ours.

  • Support Without Taking Over -  learn to manage your emotions, communicate effectively through wins and setbacks, and know when to guide, when to listen and when to step back.

  • The Many Roles of a Sports Parent - learn to navigate the practical realities of the journey, from managing finances, schedules, travel and logistics to balancing academics, family life, coaching and competition.

  • Understanding What Young Athletes Need — learn how nutrition supports growth, development, training and performance, and how needs change with age, sport and training load.

  • Building Everyday Nutrition Habits — learn how to plan meals and snacks around school, training and recovery, including practical pre- and post-training nutrition.

  • Competition-Day Nutrition — understand what to eat and drink before, during and after competition, and how to plan for long tournament days and travel.

  • Making Smart Nutrition Choices — understand hydration, supplements and common nutrition mistakes, and learn when professional nutrition support may be needed.
