Across India, a new set of sports are beginning to capture attention, sports that are growing quickly, gaining recognition at events like the Asian Games and Olympics, yet details remain unfamiliar to most families.
Mixed martial arts is gaining rapid traction and is set to debut at the Asian Games, signaling its growing legitimacy. Golf, already an Olympic sport, and now growing rapidly in India, offers one of the most structured global pathways to earning through sport. Squash, with its inclusion in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, is strengthening its place on the global stage. Esports too are drawing a new generation of competitors and are gaining momentum with the creation of Olympic Esports Games, alongside an expanded presence at the Asian Games with multiple medal events.
